Dr. Intakhab Alam

Dr. Alam earned his Ph.D. in medical virology from Giessen University, Germany in 2008. He completed his postdoctoral studies at the Institute of medical virology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland and did a few more postdoctoral studies in Germany before becoming an assistant professor at Turkey’s medical school in 2014. In those functions Dr. Alam worked with many international collaborators (e.g. Rockefeller University, New York, USA, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Ohio, USA). Prior to his Ph.D. he was qualified in diploma in pharmaceutical sciences and post-graduate in biotechnology with trainings at UNIDO supported ICGEB in New Delhi, India. Dr. Alam is thus an internationally trained scientist with over eighteen years of research experience in virology and strategic development of pre-clinical antiviral drugs in in-vitro and in-vivo systems. Not limited to viruses but also explored opportunities to investigate other new classes of drug against non-viral diseases including Embryonic Stem Cell, iPS-cells derived hepatocytes for drug screening and transplantation perspectives.He is, was also a full member of the prestigious American Society for Virology (ASV), International Society for Antiviral Research (ISAR) and German Society for Virology (GfV). Dr. Alam was awarded postdoctoral awards five times by ASV on his innovative research work and he has delivered over 20 speeches internationally. Since 2017 Dr. Alam has extensive dedication in networking with European Pharma-diagnostics manufacturing companies and regulatory affairs and currently holds the position of Chief Scientific Officer and Medical Marketing Consultant at SilverSky LifeSciences GmbH & SLS- Partnering.
